Can veneers go wrong?

Well, evidently, Veneers could VERY go wrong! At Dr.Aburas Dental Center, we had been correcting and treating cases for patients who had suffered from major veneers problems as the failed veneers must be entirely redone.

Many of these “veneers gone wrong” issues occur because of poor dentistry work by another dentist who is not an expert in cosmetic dentistry, doesn’t have the aesthetic and professional talent or has the necessary skills or training. Another common reason is outdated and poor-quality materials and equipment. And in some cases, the patient wasn’t fit for the veneers in the first place; due to gum deceases, cavities, Bruxism, or any other oral issues that are needed to be treated before veneers application.

Think twice or thrice before you proceed with the Hollywood Smile, as the following horror consequences might arise:

. Fake look

. Bad breath

. Mouth infection

. Gum inflammation

. Sensitivity

. Biting problems

. Overall discomfort.

When you’re looking for an alluring makeover, first thing first, choose the right cosmetic dentist who has sufficient experience, training, and talent. A dentist who will likely perform a thorough examination to ensure that you’re a suitable candidate.

Make Veneers’ costs worth it, don’t let the painful nightmares ruin your smile!

Celebrate a healthy Ramadan in 4 steps!

A well-balanced diet is a key to healthy fasting during Ramadan. Here are four diet tips to follow this Ramadan to enjoy a healthy and ideal month.

  1. Don’t skip Suhoor. Suhoor provides you with all the nutrients and energy till Iftar time. Furthermore, skipping Suhoor also encourages overeating during Iftar, which can cause unhealthy weight gain. Moreover, try to limit your intake of salt, as this increases thirst.
  2. Don’t overeat during Iftar. Overeating at Iftar isn’t good for your body. Your Iftar should be a well-balanced nutritious meal and not a feast! Slow down and enjoy your food.
  3. Avoid eating fried foods, salty foods, and high-sugar foods, as this will make the next day fasting more difficult. Instead, try including fruits and vegetables, rice and alternatives, and similarly meat and alternatives. Consuming fiber-rich foods during Ramadan is also ideal as they can be digested slower than processed foods, so you feel full for a longer time.
  4. Drink as much water as possible between Iftar and Suhoor to reduce your risk of dehydration during fasting. Try to drink at least eight glasses of fluids daily before dawn. Fluids include juices, milk, beverages, and soups, but water is the ideal option.

Furthermore, you should also cut down on caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea, and soft drinks as these have a diuretic effect and promote fluid loss.

Should I wear a night guard?

Are you missing good sleep? Is your partner complaining about your snoring? Do you suffer from a disturbing morning headache? Does your jaw hurt you as a painful result of clenching or grinding your teeth while you are asleep? Then you definitely should consider wearing a Night Guard!

The night guard improves your airflow, allowing you to have more restful and restorative sleep. The Night Guard will prevent you from damaging your teeth. And will allow your facial muscles to relax at night so you can have a stress-free following day.

Book your appointment with our dentists to fit you for the suitable night guard option, to sleep tight, and feel the day’s delight.

Is chewing gum good for your mouth?

Yes, if you choose the right type and chew moderately! While chewing gum could reduce bad breath and dry mouth, chewing sugar-free gum could help protect your teeth from cavities. It’s better for your teeth than regular sugar-sweetened gum.

Chewing gum sweetened with sugar is really bad for your teeth because sugar feeds the “bad” bacteria in your mouth, damaging your teeth and resulting in decay. Chewing gum after a meal increases saliva flow, which helps wash away harmful sugars and food debris, both of which feed bacteria in your mouth—noting that constant chewing could lead to a jaw problem (TMD), which causes pain when you chew.

But remember that gum-chewing, even sugarless gum, is not a substitute for a regular oral care routine of twice-daily tooth brushing and proper daily flossing with frequent visits to your dentist.

Causes of sensitive teeth.

Is the taste of ice cream or a sip of hot coffee sometimes a painful experience for you? Does brushing or flossing make you wince occasionally? If so, you may have sensitive teeth.

Possible causes include:

  • Tooth decay (cavities)
  • Fractured teeth
  • Worn fillings
  • Gum disease
  • Worn tooth enamel
  • Exposed tooth root

Proper oral hygiene is the key to preventing sensitive tooth pain. Although sensitive teeth can be treated, the type of treatment our dentists advise will depend on what is causing the sensitivity.
